Gareth Bale hands Real Madrid fitness boost ahead of Champions League final after being named in squad for Malaga clash

Gareth Bale has taken another step towards being fit for the Champions League final by training alongside his teammates today.

The Welsh forward has been struggling with a calf injury and has not played since Real Madrid's defeat by Barcelona last month.

But after we revealed his club's confidence in his fitness , the 27-year-old joined Cristiano Ronaldo and co ahead of the final weekend of the league season and was later named in the matchday squad for tomorrow' clash at Malaga.

Real need a point to ensure a first La Liga title for five years.

And an appearance from the bench for Bale would surely cement his place in the squad for the Champions League final against Juventus on June 3.

The former Spurs man will be even more determined to play his part in the showpiece event as it is being held in Cardiff.

Bale already has two Champions League winners medals having won the competition in 2014 and 2016.

He will make the trip to Malaga along with the full squad as Real Madrid look to start the title party.

Manager Zinedine Zidane said: "We know the difficulty of winning LaLiga.

"It's very tough. It's 38 matches. You have to show that you want to win every week. The players have been phenomenal and we deserve what we're doing. They're top and have to finish it.

"We're going to go for the win because it's in the DNA of this club. Then we'll see what happens.

"The unity of the team is the key. I've always said that the squad is amazing to see. Everyone is important. The ones who play less have been doing as well as the ones who have done more. We're okay mentally and physically we're f****** great.

"We still haven't won LaLiga. But we have worked a lot and we'll give everything. I'm concentrating only on what I can affect, which is the game."
