From Prince to Bowie: Eerie clips shows The Simpsons predicting 2016’s most tragic deaths

Every death – including Harry Potter's Alan Rickman and golfing legend Arnold Palmer – was completely unexpected.

Well, unexpected among everyone except The Simpsons creators.

One of the most watched television shows of all time, The Simpsons is famed for its chillingly accurate predictions – such as the outbreak of the Ebola virus and 9/11.

But they have also had the knack of referencing celebrity deaths way before they actually die.

Here Daily Star Online reveal the most chilling prophecies that The Simpsons have made which have actually come true.

BIZARRE: The Simpsons has predicted some of 2016's most tragic deaths

Prince

The popular cartoon foretold Prince's death in 2008 – a whole eight years before he was actually found dead.

In the Treehouse of Horror XIX episode, Homer is approached by secretive agents to become a celebrity assassin.

The clip cuts to Homer carrying out his killing spree, starting with Prince dressed in his iconic purple outfit.

David Bowie

The world was left reeling after pop legend David Bowie's death on January 10, 2016, but again The Simpsons creators may not have been so surprised.

An episode featuring Bart Simpson and Principal Skinner emerged on the same date and guess what? Bowie was mentioned.

Speaking about a new teacher, Skinner says: "And she has a cat with different colour eyes! His name is Bowie!"

The singer famously suffered from anisocria – which meant his pupils were different sizes, giving the illusion they were different colours.

Alan Rickman and David Bowie (again)

The Simpsons were praised for creating one of the most poignant tributes to the lives of actor Alan Rickman and Bowie – three years before they actually died.

Both stars died within four days of each other and in a 2013 Valentine-themed episode they feature together.

Entitled Love Is A Many-Splintered Thing, the episode sees Bart trying to impress a lady by watching Love, undoubtedly a parody of Love Actually.

Rickman appears dressed as Professor Snape, while Bowie's hit song All The Young Dudes can be heard in the background.

"Love is more powerful than all my magic," declares the Harry Potter star – a sentiment that has since pulled on the heart strings of fans worldwide.

LEGEND: Arnold Palmer died in September 2016

Arnold Palmer

One of the greatest golfers in history, Arnold Palmer tragically died on September 25, 2016.

That exact date an episode of The Simpsons aired in which Homer referenced Palmer in the past tense.

"We're going to Arnold Palmer before he walks in," he tells Marge.

"You see Arnold Palmer was a golfer and he made up this drink where it's not a full glass of lemonade or a full glass of iced tea."

The episode was created way before Palmer's death so the chances of the mention on that day are tiny.
